
John Briest Appointed by Governor Polis to Colorado Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission
Denver, Colorado – September 2025 - John Briest, of Blue River Infrastructure Group, LLC, has been selected by Governor Jared Polis to serve on Colorado's Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission.
This appointment recognizes John's extensive experience and commitment to the Solid Waste Industry. His expertise will be a valuable asset to the Commission as it works to direct policy in the protection of public health and the environment along with the ever changing waste sustainability landscape within the State of Colorado.
The Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission is responsible for developing and adopting rules and regulations concerning solid and hazardous waste management in Colorado. John brings a perspective and deep knowledge Solid and Hazardous waste engineering and sustainable practices to this important work.
John's career spans over two decades of industry experience dedicated to innovative design solutions for waste infrastructure challenges and industry compliance. He has a proven track record of successfully working with communities and industry partners alike to balance their environmental goals and operational needs. He has hands on experience for landfills, transfer stations, material recovery facilities, recycling and compost.
